Shakur Stevenson: From the Gym to Greatness

Pro Level Media Mag had the privilege of photographing Shakur Stevenson during his early professional days at DLX Boxing in Las Vegas — back when he was still a fresh face turning heads in the gym, not yet a household name but already carrying himself like one. Fresh off representing the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics where he captured a silver medal, Stevenson was in the early stages of building something special, and being around him in those days made it clear that the sport was looking at a future champion.

Those early observations proved to be an understatement. Stevenson went on to win his first major world title in October 2019, and has since become a champion across multiple weight classes, establishing himself as one of the most technically gifted fighters of his generation. Every step of his career has reflected the discipline and focus we witnessed firsthand in those gym sessions years ago.

Today, Shakur Stevenson stands at the top of the sport. In January 2026, he delivered a masterclass performance at a sold-out Madison Square Garden, dominating Teofimo Lopez to become just the 24th fighter in boxing history to win world titles in four weight divisions. Pro Level was there at the beginning — and watching his journey from DLX to Madison Square Garden has been nothing short of remarkable.
